Packaging for Good®
A 2% non-negotiable plastic tax is included in the pricing for every packaging order that goes into production.
-
The Fund
Pioneering a New Zealand first, we charge an open and upfront 2% plastic tax margin on the total value of your packaging. This 2% portion from each sale is privately held but publicly viewable in our “Packaging for Good®” fund where every year, numerous individuals and entities can be put forward to receive a portion of what is made from our 2% plastic tax.
-
Purpose
If we are going to talk about circular economies, then we have to do just that, give back. If we can utilise a small percentage of the bottom line and collectively contribute, we can compound and invest back into those individuals and platforms trying to make our industry better and create systemic awareness and change.
-
Collection
Our 2% plastic tax is communicated upfront in the quote process and is charged on every invoice as an individual line. This allows our customers to maintain visibility of what they have accrued throughout the year in line with our transparent approach to doing business. All customers get a quarterly update on this figure as it grows in line with the spend within their membership bracket.
-
Distribution
Our recipients are either customer nominated or are partnered with REVO® externally. Annually, our customer base gets access to the total dollar value they have accrued across the year and get to choose where they would like to see their 2% plastic tax donated. This allows brands to align with relevant brands and individuals and encourages the conversation about how they can invest back into their community.
-
Industry Driven
We like to think that we are changing the industry by giving you access to cost-price packaging, allowing better end-of-life structures to be used due to room in the budget. But it’s the industry and local infrastructures that need addressing and we feel by putting forward 2% of what we produce every year, we can start the conversation about a true circular economy.
-
